Social Media Strategist

Our growing Indianapolis based media company is looking for a Social Media Strategist to join our rapidly growing, fast-paced team. The Social Media Strategist is responsible for proactively developing and executing a comprehensive social media strategy to increase our brand awareness, social media engagement and grow our online community. The ideal candidate must have the ability to creatively and efficiently present our brand and talent through multiple social media channels. This individual must be able to effectively implement and utilize data analytics to track the performance of social media initiatives and implement changes to achieve desired results.

In this role, you’ll get to:
  • Design social media strategies that support our marketing goals and targets
  • Manage, create and publish original content that is “on brand”
  • Grow our social media following, engagement and brand awareness
  • Engage with our audience by responding to posts, commenting, tagging etc.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry related trends, technologies and best practices
  • Collaborate with other team members to create a social “buzz” around launches
  • Report on performance by providing social media related metrics

These are the skills and background you’ll bring with you:
  • Hands on experience increasing brand awareness through social media
  • Ability to create content in sync with our target audience preferences
  • Proactively engage with our audience by managing comments, feedback, tagging etc.
  • Exceptional knowledge and application of all major social media platforms, with an emphasis on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube
  • Deep understanding of leading and lagging social media metrics
  • 3 years as a Social Media Strategist or similar role
  • Creative skills to design, develop, create and edit content including copy, photos and videos
  • An understanding of the podcast industry earns you a gold star
These are the skills and background that will really make you stand out:
  • Proven ability to proactively and quickly create social media content
  • Desire and ability to proactively engage with an audience to increase brand loyalty
  • Very proficient with Instagram, Facebook, Twitter and YouTube
  • Experience working with podcasts and/or radio

The company behind the chart-topping podcast, Crime Junkie, will be looking for interns to join our team during the summer of 2020. Interns will assist with the production of our weekly Flagship show, Crime Junkie as well as other new and exciting ventures. This is a paid internship. Check back in April for more details or sign up for our newsletter to be notified when the application opens.

Responsibilities:
  • Help manage the case suggestion form
  • Conduct initial research
  • Assist with fact-checking and citing of sources
  • Work with the fan club manager on communications and logistics to give the members the best experience in the industry
  • General office duties
Requirements:
  • Self-starter, able to prioritize responsibilities and take direction
  • Excited and eager to assist with any task assigned
  • Motivated, organized and responsible go-getter and team player
  • Passion for creative content development
  • Interact professionally within and on behalf of all levels of the organization
Qualifications:
  • MUST live in the Indianapolis area and able to work on-site 2-3 days a week
  • At least 18 years of age
  • Must be currently enrolled in a college university during the term of the internship
  • Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
  • Degree area of focus in journalism, communications, research, criminology, or similar
  • Must be a US Citizen
