Timeline:
Morning
Meggan Sundwall arrives at Kacee Terry’s grandparents’ home.
12:47 p.m.
Meggan texts the supposed hospice doctor asking about surgery scheduling.
1:43 p.m.
The glucometer records Kacee’s blood sugar at 43.
4:17 p.m.
Kacee’s blood sugar reads “Lo.”
7:19 p.m.
The final glucometer reading is recorded.
Around 8:30 p.m.
Meggan’s parents arrive to give Kacee a blessing.
Around 9 p.m.
Kacee’s uncle, Mark, discovers Kacee unconscious and struggling to breathe.
Shortly after 9 p.m.
Mark calls Kacee’s sister, Kylee, and then 911. Paramedics transport Kacee to the hospital.
Kacee is removed from life support and dies.
Mark discovers a Fanta box containing a syringe, syringe cap and partially used insulin vial in the trash.
Meggan turns over her phone to investigators after deleting hundreds of text messages.
Meggan is arrested on charges of aggravated murder and obstruction of justice.
The jury returns a verdict finding Meggan guilty of manslaughter and obstruction of justice.
Meggan is sentenced to 1 to 15 years for manslaughter and 0 to 5 years for obstruction of justice, to be served concurrently.
